This interview from 2004 is here. It's a nice piece, but if like me you haven't yet watched State of Play then don't, whatever you do, read to the end. Six years and I get spoilered now, three days before I watch the damn thing! *weeps in frustration*

This interview from 2004 is here. It's a nice piece Thanks for the link Celia! It is a pretty solid and informative article, a good one to recommend to newbies wishing to acquaint themselves with the Morrissey-syllabus There's a couple of noteworthy bits that really caught my eye: But he is so open and unaffected, so unimpressed by status, if you like, that you know he simply fell in love with a person, not one of the most famous dynasties in the world. As he puts it: "The person I'm in love with is Esther and the least interesting thing about her is her surname. It's the person in front of me who's got me entranced."I'm not normally a sentimental type, but you could seriously knock me over with a feather at reading that remarkably sweet (yet not too saccharine-y) quote. Just awwwwwwwww "Yes, but I feel that with every job I do! I think, why would they give me this job? I am so unqualified to be doing it. I have no credentials at all. It's impostor syndrome. But then I feel that about being a parent, as well. It's not an unnatural state for me to be in at all," he laughs.I can relate to the urge to be self-deprecating in order to be funny (goodness knows I do it a fair bit myself), but there are times where I'm like, "Mate, it's okay to talk yourself up once in a while, ya know." Aw, shit, that's harsh, waiting all this time, only to get done at the last minute Sometimes it almost pays to keep yourself in a bunker and not read anything pertaining to that person/show until you've seen it. Am doing exactly that wrt DW atm. But still, I hate it when I get spoilered. Just got pinged the other day when checking my LJ inbox with Dexter S4, which hasn't screened here yet, and a certain character's death...GAH! SOOO DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW THAT!!! Re SoP I didn't know the 'twist' beforehand, but kinda picked it halfway through, so I wasn't all that surprised when it came about the way it did. Having said that, I'd still have preferred remaining ignorant nonetheless. kitty

Yes, it's lovely. I'm not a sentimental type either, but hearing someone talk about their significant other so affectionately somehow restores/sustains one's faith in love, marriage and the whole shebang Yes, but his self-deprecation is very, very charming and endearing Yes, it's true. I did try - I'd avoided articles about State of Play and have pussyfooted around the thread about it on this board, trying not to look/read too closely, but unfortunately in that interview the comment from Mr M. just slipped out and I didn't see it coming Luckily though, I found when I came to watch SoP that the plot was sufficiently twisty and turny that I could still enjoy discovering how everything unfolded, even though obviously I'd rather not have known what I knew Yes, I can imagine. It must be quite hard to avoid too as presumably there's already speculation all over the web. When will you get to see the end of DT's tenure in Australia - at the same time as us or later? There aren't that many series I follow, but did try hard to avoid learning the fates of the characters in Robin Hood before seeing the season 3 finale earlier this year. Robin I could take or leave, but I did care what happened to Much, Allan and - especially - Gisborne. It says a lot for the actors that I cared at all, given how sloppily written and plotted that show often was, but somehow after three series I felt I had a real emotional investment - in Sir Guy at least. Yep, it's infuriating when that happens
