Aaah, the unforgettable, scary yet heartrending Bradley Headstone - my first DM love! There's a Lizzie/Eugene picspam at this link which includes some nice screencaps of DM, including the one above: ingenu0us.livejournal.com/159268.html

Wow...I am at a loss for words to express how beholden I am to you for that link, particularly since it led me to that absolute treasure trove of OMF screencaps; now, considering that there are over 5000 images to sort through from episode 4 alone, it will take me a while to go through them all, but in the meanwhile, I've thrown together a few selections (along with of course thanking the gal who posted the zip files--I told her that on behalf of the DMF2, she now has attained Official Godlike Status, which she seemed to appreciate). And speaking of deity rankings, IMO this icon completely befits you as well for the fabulous pass-along of such linky goodness: For starters, this one posted at the picspam made me laugh for days--oh, the manpain!! The GLORIOUS, GLORIOUS MANPAIN!![/b] And dammit, kitty, because of you I also lapsed into minor hysterics at what is clearly Return of the Stunned Mullet: And of course, there's absolutely no reason that I just happened to download the zip file of episode 4 first. NONE WHATSOEVER. (Yes, of course there are more, but I'm first gonna have to take a look at our Terms of Service with Proboards, along with probably host 'em at my LiveJournal scrapbook cos I know those fascist bastards at Photobucket will undoubtedly choose to enforce their curiously uneven policies about images depicting nudity if I upload 'em there.) For now, I've just got a macro... ...and this last cap, which I found almost physically painful to smaller down to more than 700 pixels. I can't think of a better example of kitty's now-immortal phrase, "Doe-y Blue-Eyed Cherubic Perfection" (and some nice grungy Hand Porn at no extra charge!). Luckily only kitty knows about the character I ended up writing that's such a ginormous ripoff of Bradley Headstone--well, specifically, Mr. Morrissey's characterisation of him--that it's not even funny. (Okay, well, yeah, it IS a little funny, actually.)

May I say, that Rogue Riderhood pic is genius Aw, thanks--in all honesty, I wasn't sure if I should've gone with my initial version (in my continuing inability to remember the AA maxim, "Keep It Simple"): There are something like 20,000 screencaps to go through, so obviously this is going to take me a while--not to mention the glorious plethora of cappy goodness kitty has provided me with from TND, S&S, BI2, etc.--but here's the next random assortment of OMF pics. (I could be posting these in chronological order, but that would imply a level of organisational skill I do not in fact possess.) This first one may look just a little familiar to Celia... This next made me go, "Ohhhh--yet again, Pouty McPouterson is Pouty!" Methinks once more someone is suffering from the heartbreak of terminal cookie-lack. And okay, I know Charley Hexam is just a kid, but I still can't help looking at this picture and wishing he would've thwacked him with that book as he went by. That selfish little prig could do with several smacks upside the head, IMO. Now, I'd like to think that I like this next series because of Mr. Morrissey's heartrending performance--which quite frankly I'm appreciating on a whole new level now that I'm actually reading Our Mutual Friend (shamefully enough, I managed to get an entire degree in English without ever reading a lick o' Dickens)--but I also know that I've always enjoyed this part cos of what happens next. Hey, at least I'm consistent! ;D (Once again, kitty's wonderfully evocative citation of the term, "succulent" springs to mind about now...)

Thanks for the lovely screencaps. Ah, Mr Headstone! Unhinged stalker, yes, but how I love him Oh, I agree – I've been reading the novel recently too and Mr Morrissey absolutely nails the combination of awkwardness, repression and discomfort in his own skin that Dickens describes. He also brings an extra edge of pain and desperation that goes beyond what's in the text, and I think it's this that makes the performance so moving. The scene in the lock-keeper's cottage where Headstone staggers in out of the rain after seeing Wrayburn and Lizzie together, and just completely falls apart – ach! it breaks my heart. (Thinking of which – props too to David Bradley, who is brilliantly unpleasant as Riderhood. One of the many incidental pleasures of watching Blackpool is seeing these two teamed up again. When I saw Mr Bradley camped on the pavement outside Ripley's arcade I thought, 'Nope, these two really can’t get free of each other…' )

Just to keep the Headstone squee levels topped up, an arresting example of what Lilly has termed eyelash porn...
