Given what a powerfully effective innocent look you've got going on yourself, I think that might be a pretty fair contest there, actually. LOL! I dunno...it's a bit easier for me to look innocent with my appearance (small, female, doe-eyed), so he'd deserve more points for degree of difficulty, don't you think? I'm keeping said smutty elaborations reserved for my creative writing instead, but at this point I'm just thinking about peaches again kitty

This is the kind of psychosis I like! I actually feel a little lightheaded in the face of so much Kiffer goodness *sways*
These are fabulous – I love them. Thanks so much ;D And if you have even more on the way, even better! Do you happen to have another one from the wedding to add to Lilly's by any chance? I thought he looked especially lovely there.
I can't choose favourites because they're all gorgeous, but a few random thoughts:
These caps have reminded me how much I liked the look of this movie – particularly the over-saturated colour in the 1960s scenes (as in the kitchen/dining scenes and the wedding) and then the shift to the greens and dun browns of Kiffer and Hilary’s life in the country. It means that when Jackie turns up in that vibrant blue coat and then in that fancy colourful silk wrap of hers there's a sense of her being an interloper from another world entirely (as in a way she is).
I thought that Mr Morrissey and Ms Griffiths had great chemistry and did an excellent job of creating an authentically affectionate, intimate, married couple vibe (I love that cap of Kiffer peering out from under Hilary's jumper btw).
The cap above of Kiffer in the kitchen in the morning-after-the-night-before scene (and wow is that scene awkward to watch) captures exactly what I meant earlier about the note of ambiguity he brings to the triangle. Very interesting.
In an instance of 'less is more', I thought that in the sex scene between Kiffer and Jackie, uncomfortable though it is because of the circumstances, there was something very sexy about just the sound of Kiffer's breathing (the very fact that he's having to be really quiet is kinda hot somehow). And on the subject of that scene, especially seeing the cap – he really does have quite the hirsute neck, no? Not that I'm minding but it becomes quite surprising to see in these days when so many men – onscreen at least – are waxed to within an inch of their lives.

These are fabulous – I love them. Thanks so much ;D Hey, no probs... I lives to serve *salutes* I've got about 3-4 from the wedding, so I'll make a point of adding those on tonight *nods in agreement* I do love how they used colour to intimate subtext in that way I also notice how those earthly colours for Hilary and Kiffer reflect their relationship in terms of being grounded and emotionally-earthly (even that dinner table scene where they reflect each other's body language is quite divine ), while Jackie and Danny were often displayed visually in that over-saturated finish, which IMO reflects how their relationship is seemingly more pragmatic and all 'shiny' on the surface without the same degree of substance that Kiffer and Hilary have (which Jackie envies no end ) Oh, yesiree they did. There's that initial kissing scene between them outside their cottage/house, and I'm thinking, *fans self at thought* "Do I see tongue?" I actually found it painfully awkward (was squirming a little) to watch while capping and I had no audio to hear the exchange There's just that extra bit o' naughtiness about forbidden sex that makes it a fair turn-on, yeah Obviously he doesn't want Hilary to hear him enjoying it either. I actually took that shot for Lilly on her request *snickers* On first viewing it did elicit a reaction from me, I must admit. At least they were being true to the time period in question kitty

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Yep... *glazes over* True - I'm not sure male waxing had been invented in 1971 Mr Morrissey is similarly hirsute as Bradley Headstone, but it's only evident early on in episode 4 and, well, at that point no-one's really looking at his neck

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Yep... *glazes over* At the same time I was also thinking, "Oooh, you naughty, naughty man!" (doing my darnest Mercy Hartigan inpersonation) I always thought there were certain unwritten rules with regards to "actor-y" kissing... LOL, no! That tends to get lost in the overwhelming tide of his pale nakedness kitty

Kitty and I were bemoaning the lamentable trend toward egregious manscaping on men named David only the other night. And my request for that cap stemmed from the original comment I made gawd-knows-where-herein about finding that a curious place to neglect one's personal grooming, but how it was perhaps an arcane tribute to the more hirsute styles of that period. Celia, I'm afraid that kitty has only sent me one other cap related to the wedding, but it's a pretty memorable one nonetheless: Aaaaaand here are some more of the non-wedding-related variety. I again love kitty's titles--for the preceding, it's, "Mmmm...sandwiches!" and for the next, it's "Collectively Dumbfounded." Once more, it's... Return of the Stunned Mullet!I like a man who's good in the kitchen...or at least has quite the winning way with a bottle. What this next lacks in Kiffer it more than makes up for in kitty's title of, "Joint GUH," as I somehow suspect the members of this forum might relate to that reaction ever-so-slightly. I have an ex--well, former boytoy, really--who had a distinct predilection for wearing wifebeaters, and it occurred to me that if he had looked half this good in them, I might have been more inclined to keep him around. (Though I know full well that a personality transplant--perhaps for us both--also would have been in order.) And with regard to this last... ... I once again came up with a banner that is eminently unsuitable for the front page.

Thank you both for yet more lovely caps If so, it appears the rules can be relaxed in the cause of authenticity - which is just fine by me I haven't seen enough of Lil Davey in a state of undress to comment there, but as a general principle I certainly lean towards leaving as nature intended. My remark about men being waxed to within an inch of their lives was very nearly followed with 'Mr Armitage, this means you.'It's lucky my officemate had stepped outside for a moment when I clicked on that link, as it saved me from having to explain the sudden snort of laughter that erupted from my corner of the room. I'm also enjoying imagining the utter confusion that banner would cause to a visitor to the forum who hadn't seen the movie ;D

LOL! I dunno...it's a bit easier for me to look innocent with my appearance (small, female, doe-eyed), so he'd deserve more points for degree of difficulty, don't you think? Absolutely, at least nowadays, but back when he was your age...oh, I think you definitely would have gotten a run for your money there, hon. If so, it appears the rules can be relaxed in the cause of authenticity - which is just fine by me Which puts me in mind of the quote--I can't remember where it originates right now--of, "Gee, French people sure kiss funny!" Allow me to amend that situation forthwith. Mind you, I now think I may have been kinda off-base on that assessment--as well as doing more than a little *facepalm* at the fact that we're delving into the subject to this extent--but judge for yourself. 2004: 2005: 2008: And if there's a comparison to be made--and you know damn well I've made one--between, say, Holding On vs. BI2, my editorial position remains, "WHERE-OH-WHERE DID THE HAPPY TRAIL GO?! BRING IT BACK, BRING IT BACK!!" Ditto, and then some--kinda like what I said about circumcision in the 'full frontal' thread, whenever you get round to it (the password again being, "iamanadult"). I particularly look forward to what Das Kitster's response to that statement will be. Yay! *clappy hands* Once again, the optimal reaction, m'dear. I seem to excel at coming up with ideas that may succeed on a comedic level but in terms of getting guests or newbies to contribute? Ooh, not so much.

Absolutely, at least nowadays, but back when he was your age...oh, I think you definitely would have gotten a run for your money there, hon. LOL...mebbe. Either way, we'd make a helluva 'Bonnie and Clyde'-style couple *drifts off into reverie at the potential havoc that much feigned innocence could produce* LOL, if they were French I'd let it go ;D DT hasn't changed much. *walks away with hands in pockets whistling* It would be nice to see what he's like au naturel, but I don't mind the hairless look in a modern guise: However, as Gisbourne...that's just wrong, time period-wise, character-wise, just WRONG Me thinks they're mostly lifeless bots kitty

Thanks - much appreciated ;D Agreed As for Lucas North, I'm still a little disconcerted by how lean he is. I know Mr Armitage deliberately lost a stone for the role, but looking at him I have the urge to buy him a bag of chips - feed him up a bit

I saw Hillary and Jackie ages ago and didn't think much of it. I recently borrowed the DVD from the library to check out DM's performance again. Before I give my review: holy gorilla neck Kiffer!!!!! I've never seen so much neck hair on a guy!!! ;D I'm amazed the that director didn't get him to shave it off! ;D My main problem with the film the first time was with Emily Watson's performance, whom I normally love. Her performance seemed uneven and contrived in parts, particularly when she was playing the cello. I didn't connect to Jackie the way I was supposed to. My opinion of her performance is still the same. Rachel Griffith's quiet intensity is impressive. DM's performance is lovely and quite difficult now that I think about it more. ;D He manages to convey Kiffer's total love for his wife with distaste for what she's asking him to do with a real affection and some sort of attraction for Jackie. Kiffer never comes accross as a scumbag. The triangle is probably the best in the film. DM had a lot to do with that. I agree about the chemistry with Rachel Griffiths. I love the first scene in her house when he wipes the rain off her face. And he looks a treat striding about the country side!
