Bit of a curiosity, this: a short film made for Channel 4 in 1988 which you can see here   It would be nice to feel there was a creative justification for Mr Morrissey's outfit, but it may just be what the man in the street was wearing in 1988  |

Thanks for citing this little short  It's one of those oddities that I also came across on YouTube a while ago (shame about the film quality, BTW). Tis cute, but a wee bit strange *screws up face in bemusement* Although I was only in single digits age-wise in 1988, I do remember bright parachute tracksuits being all the rage...unfortunately. And yep, it's not a flattering look for anyone, even DM I just hope in this current re-living of 80s fashion that they don't make a comeback. kitty |

It would be nice to feel there was a creative justification for Mr Morrissey's outfit, but it may just be what the man in the street was wearing in 1988 LOL, I would love to claim having been immune to the whole acid-washed denim thing, but alas, I cannot.Mind you, I do think that the kids today who go round with the waistband of their shorts hanging down to their knees will be just as embarrassed in due course. Fashion atrocities are part of what's fun about being young, after all. |
