From one appealingly cherubic, sonorous-voiced actor to another: just veering off topic for a moment to give a nod to Richard Linklater's Me and Orson Welles - or more specifically, to Christian McKay's marvellous performance in the title role. The film itself tends towards the slight and fluffy, but it's worth seeing for Mr McKay's extraordinary turn - uncanny as an impersonation, but also capturing something of the essence of Welles: his charm, dynamism and charisma, but also the selfishness and monstrous ego that perhaps only a boy wonder can get away with. There's a wee taster here. The supporting cast is good too, including Ben Chaplin as George Coulouris and James Tupper as Joseph Cotten. A flawed movie, but well worth a look
