I don't suppose anyone knows where i can get hold of this on a region 2 disc do you? This is one of the things i *really* want to see David in (not least because i so enjoy RLS's short story that it is based on) but it is only available in on region 1 and i don't have a region free DVD player *sobs* Failing its availibility i don't suppose there's any lovely person that could perhaps put it onto a VCD? I know that's terribly cheeky, and probably wholly illegal, but i thought it was a worth a try anyway. I'd obviously love you forever

While I do have the region 1 DVD, I don't have a DVD burner or anything like it, alas...though what I can proffer for now is this exceedingly well-made fan video (if you haven't seen it already) and a ginormous heapload of screencaps that I took a few weeks ago. So could you possibly love me for at least a few years, if not forever per se? And BTW, thanks for finally starting a thread for this film, as it's something I've been meaning to get to for absolutely ages. *scurries off to start processing screencaps*

As promised...screencaps. There are a few I've held off on posting because they are quite spoiler-y, but on the positive side, they feature Mr M in a delightfully unclothed condition, so give me some input on how y'all feel about spoilers vs. nekkidness; if the latter prevails, I'll post them anon. Dunno if lucinda is still around, but here's some Hand Porn for her...along with everyone else. Puppydog Eyes, version one: Aaaaand, Puppydog Eyes, version two: But this puppy has teeth, so don't piss him off. This entire film is one ginormous Festival O' Manpain, and I believe this is the only part at which Mr M comes perilously close to almost smiling. We've got some significant Little Boy Lost mojo happening here, too. My sister walked by when I had the DVD paused at this point and cried, "Nooo! Don't let him do it!" I then warned her that this mortal weakness for Mr M might well be a family trait so she should turn right around and leave the room before she became similarly afflicted. And re: this last--awww. Kinda just makes you wanna clutch him inappropriately close to your bosom and tell him everything will be all right, doesn't it? Oh, that's just me? Erm...never mind.

Still here! Appreciate the photos. Post more. South Riding here is the USA tomorrow! *clappy hands* Sooo glad to know you're still around, m'dear. So is "post more" a vote for being spoilered, if it means you get nekkid goodness? And does anyone else have a vote on this one way or t'other? (We had a monumental kerfuffle about spoilers at the other forum I admin, so I'm just double-checking before I go ahead and post 'em.)

So, thank to the lovely Kelsey, i finally got to see this last night. And my God was it worth the wait!
Firstly, it should be known that (aside from Ripley Holden, who i love unconditionally) the two best things about David Morrissey, for me, are angst/tears/man pain and him in period dress. Handy then because that's pretty much The Suicide Club/Game Of Death to a tee.
I loved it, loved the pace of it, loved the story line, loved the rest of the cast, loved the ending, just loved it. Though that scene with David about to shoot himself on the shore when he's crying is absolutely heartbreaking.

Well, evidently that wasn't the case with the actress herself; on the director's commentary she mentions that when she called "cut" on the kissing scene, it took them a while to actually stop. Can't blame her at all.
