Red Riding, the first episode, in on Channel 4, this THURSDAY (5th March), at 9pm. It's a three-part series and i think it's being shown over concurrent Thursdays. For those outside of the UK, Channel 4 has an online service called 4OD (that's 4 "On Demand") and i'm pretty sure Red Riding will be uploaded shortly after it airs

Alas, you have to be a U.K. resident to get that, plus on a PC to boot, so I am trying to welcome this as yet another opportunity to expand my capacity for delayed gratification, à la Blackpool.
Though synopses and/or screencaps will probably be up here on Teh Interwebs in short order, I suspect.

I'll post about it when its been on, but can't promise screencaps myself, though i'm sure someone, somewhere on t'internet will upload some. I have seen some press photos and David has a moustache which isn't particularly fetching, but he is supposed to be a 1970s detective, and i think most of them had 'taches then ;D

What I wouldn't give to have that mustache tickle any part of my anatomy whatsoever!" In other words, it's all good, mon. 70's PornoStache for the win! ;D

Hee, Mark Addy--someone else who sounded horrifically wrong to me with an American accent. That US sitcom he did is still in syndicated repeats on a local station here, and whenever I flip by it, I think, "Duuuuuude...no. Just... NO." Thanks for posting that clippy!

While I am by no means sure of this site's veracity overall, that article claims a U.S. theatrical release for this project, although when I checked with IMDb, all that's cited is a release date is "2009," which is rather nicely non-specific. *rolls eyes* Nonetheless, those of us poor punters in the Colonies may in fact not be completely outta luck with this one. Fingers crossed!

Well, i watched it and...it's nothing write home about, in my opinion. Firstly, David was onscreen for approximately, all in all, 3 minutes. And he probably said about 20 words. Although there are 2 more parts so perhaps his character will feature more heavily in those. And secondly, as a script, and as a mini-series, it's VERY confusing. There are just so many characters and the plot is so jumpy it's difficult to keep track. Now i love "gritty realism", and i love anything that's dark and dramatic, but it all seems a bit far-fetched. Perhaps the other episodes will change my opinon.

I agree, I had trouble following it sometimes. I was like what just happened there lol. I did like it though but not as much as I thought. Hopefully the rest will help make the first make more sense.

I'm pretty keen on the gritty realism myself, though at this point I can claim absolutely no perspective anymore. If Mr. Morrissey's in it, I'm prolly gonna watch it regardless, ya know? *rolls eyes at self* I found some screencaps via the fine folks at andrew-garfield.com, but the selection thus far has left me unenthused. Hopefully this will change with the ensuing episodes, bien sûr.However, at that site they also provided the linky goodness to this interview, which additionally features a video clip for us poor benighted souls not in the U.K. who are cannot avail ourselves of torrents. (Not that I would imply there are any out there of Red Riding, of course. Perish the thought!)

Good for you--and him! *clappy hands* Though if he went to that much trouble for you, might I hazard a guess that someone might be wishing to change his "ex" status there? Nice to know there are still folks out there using webcams for non-nefarious purposes, in any case.

Still haven't found more screencaps, but Liverpool Daily Post interview can be read here. Though re: that last quote about being "a bit greedy" with his choices? Uhm, dude, I think the world can cope, if that's your definition of greediness. Or at least the rabid fangirl contingent, anyway...
