You could always create a series of different "skins" for the forum that feature different banners, that's what I've done at one of my own forums That way the members can choose whatever they like.

LOL! Excellent banners I'm especially partial to the second, as you know how much I like me a little Headstone. Special credit should go to kitty for having recently used the phrase, "Headstoned." I'm pretty sure that we've already been exemplifying the gerund, "Headstoning," i.e. "focussing to an unnatural and unhealthy extent on an unattainable love object." I'm definitely going to change the banner soon, so any suggestions for which photo to use will definitely be taken into consideration. (Ooh, look, there she goes trying to act like this forum is a democracy when we all know it's a tyrannical dictatorship at best.) You could always create a series of different "skins" for the forum that feature different banners, that's what I've done at one of my own forums That way the members can choose whatever they like. I actually tried to adjust the skins/banners a while ago to reflect that very thing, but either Proboards doesn't allow for them to be specialised per thread, or I'm simply made of fail there (yeah, three guesses which is probably the case). And though I know you asked this question elsewhere, for the record, the banner stems from this Basic instinct 2 shot: Of course I subsequently futzed with it unduly because, uhm, that's just what I do.

Aah the pic, thanks for that ;D (Kitty sent it to me as well so I ended up deleting the post in question >_> ) As for the banners... I know you can change them on each individual skin (so they'll be set for whichever skin they're on)... And I believe there's also a code you can use that will change the banner image each time you refresh the page, but I'm not sure what it actually is (Proboards Support would be the place to ask). I also know a code that will centre the banner and shift the menu and "hey --- you have -- messages" underneath it if you're interested in doing something like that (and yet another code that'll make the forum look skinnier rather than the default layout, but that's probably not for everyone).

Holy crap, you should be running this board, not me! I've spent countless hours at Proboards Support, but after I practically gave myself an aneurysm adding a bunch of smilies (maybe the only way that Forumup is superior, as their process for doing so is much more streamlined--and involves no pasting of code whatsoever), I subsequently haven't tried to toggle much with the forum setup. Truthfully, it's also an issue of available time and limited amount of faith in my abilities, since unless they explain things in words of one syllable or less, I tend to get rapidly lost.

LOL Let's just say, I have a lot of experience with Proboards Yeah I've added smilies to some of my other boards using a slightly different code, and it does take ages to do I know what you mean. A lot of the time I don't know what people are talking about because I don't really have a technical sort of mind, but I'm fairly decent with HTML for the most part (probably helps that I learnt it in college). If you need any help with this stuff let me know and I'll see what I can do for you (I also have a lot of time on my hands when I'm not at work )

Just a quick note that the current link colours will NOT be staying the way that they presently are, but after futzing around with skin settings tonight, it's now 1:15 AM here in PST and I'm all out of love...and am presently fighting off sleep with a pointed stick (as well as bananas and raspberries, accompanied by the John Cleese and Eric Idle voices in my head. Oh, stop looking at me like that. You know you hear them too!) In any case...sorry to leave things in a bit of a muddle here, but rest assured, this situation is purely temporary. Sometime soon, the colours will get sorted out here, and hopefully I won't have to ceaselessly bug Illyria to help me get 'er done. In the meantime, input is appreciated. I'll definitely be making the links darker/more readable, along with coordinating the rest of the colours to match the new skin, but any other suggestions?

Who'd a thunk I'd get more mileage out of the cat screencap than the corset pic? Nonetheless, after first thinking it would be a worthy submission to Cute Overload or Daily Squee, I went with this instead: Also, last night my friend Deb said something that made me laugh for about ten minutes; once I recovered, I told her I'd be making a macro with her getting full credit, so in the grand tradition of these... I give you...

Oooh I love that picture! ;D Even if the cat looks a bit like it's trying to get away >_> Why would you want to do that though?! Perhaps the kitteh knows something we don't? Okay, regarding this first item, y'all are more than entitled to back away from me slowly with fixed smiles on your faces, but it was something that occurred to me when I was processing the Red Riding caps and I made myself laugh, which IMO is reason enough for a comedy banner to result. And this is just the latest in a long line of mea culpas.

Some version of this may end up as the actual banner at some point, once I get completely sick of the current colour scheme+banner combo.

Those banners are great lilly! I'm curious about giving banner design a go, but not sure I'd be all that good at it Re the Red Riding banner, I had a good laugh at your caption there too, given what I'd have liked to have happen at times throughout the film I wouldn't mind the TOBG banner getting a run, it's fab ;D But I'm not exactly tiring of the current TND banner either--it's still such a cack. His expressions at times are quite priceless kitty
