Just saw this posted@LJ, thought I'd throw the linky goodness in here too (not in the least because kitty and I had been just discussing this very thing--I love how the Gods of Media are occasionally so swift to answer after having been importuned thusly): www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/features/this-happy-brood-how-is-david-morrissey-coping-with-mass-exposure-1673119.htmlI'll admit that I burst into laughter at the line, "Not a character, I think we can safely say, likely to foster any pleasant sexual fantasies." Clearly that reporter doesn't give some of us enough credit, huh? Though predictably, my thought at the headline was, "Well, for my money he could do with a helluva lot more mass exposure, at least in one particular context..."

The Good:- Loved this quote...me wonders whether a lot of actors/directors fall into the same category "...You start playing characters at the age you are, so you are working through your life like a man looking back over the years and the mistakes he's made." He'd soooo be the perfect candidate for Kevin Spacey's character in 'American Beauty'...in another life, perhaps, where I'd be Mena Suvari's character in it, LOL - Major LMHO at his remark bout wifey teaching him 'self-discipline' - Had an awwwww moment when he talked bout BI2. It made me wonder bout how much, ambition-wise, he had riding on his foray to Hollywood...seemed that he had plenty, given he was contemplating throwing in the towel afterwards...yikes Which then reminded me of this interesting article Hmmmm, he really did appear to be a wee bit naive to the machinations of Hollywood, poor dear The Bad:- Didn't think the article really went very far into answering its original question re his 'exposure' post-Who. It seemed like it discussed and had him reflect over his past work more than talk bout the present state of affairs. - Wasn't overly enamoured with journo's comment here.... "The actor who once described himself in a Q-and-A session as "happy-go-lucky" (he had, he tells me, just seen the film) is clearly far from it." Oh, of course, that ol' cliched chestnut...actors can't possibly play 'misery guts' characters without actually being ones in RL kitty

Major LMHO at his remark bout wifey teaching him 'self-discipline' Yeah, I was torn between thinking how sweet that was, and being painfully reminded of times with certain exes that prompted me to comment, "You know, you're awfully cute, and quite a magnificent lay into the bargain, but if you interrupt my writing again, You Will Be Harmed."
