I spoke to someone at JB Hi Fi and he said that there weren't any multregion blu-ray players that he knew of. He said there was one brand that could play different regions if you got the code from the web and changed it on your machine. Too hard for a technophobe like me! I'm going to return the blu-ray and buy a multi-region DVD player so I can watch The Knock. That will have to provide my DM fix until I get the Thorne DVD.

Ooh, that's a shame (which brand was it that could play different regions, did he say? The one my b/f has is Sonique I think...) Definitely get yourself a multi-regional player though. I don't know where I'd be without mine (I buy so many DVDs from overseas - they're just better than the Aussie releases).

I used to have a multi-region DVD player but it died recently. I'd heard somewhere that the new DVD players were multi-regional, so I didn't bother to check when I bought mine.

Oh... it pays to sometimes ask, or just go online and see if there's a code for your particular model of player. I think most, if not all, of the current players available should be multi-regional. The Toshiba one I bought recently is, and my Sony one from a few years ago is as well. What is the make and model of your current player? I could have a look online and see if I can find a code for it

Illyria, you're so sweet! My DVD player is an LG brand DV550. Thanks a lot. I hope I don't have to buy another DVD player.

Hello possums, did you miss me? ;D I haven't been AWOL, honest! I don't have a computer at home so I usually go to the library to get the internet. I haven't had a chance to go recently, and now my mobile phone won't let me post at this forum. I got Sleepyhead and Scaredy Cat from the library, but I just don't have the attention span to read books any more! I'll just wait for my DVD. ;D

Heya! ;D I've been thinking of finding the books to read, but I think I'd have the same problem with the low attention span thing >_>

I got the first 8 books in a big set thing (my Grandma was only too pleased to buy them for me, what with her convinced my brain in going to be mush because i spend time on the internet and don't read all that much. Suppose i should be flattered that she still cares about my fully operational, adult, brain!) and i've read 1, 2 and 3 and am about half way through 4. Though interestingly i only actually picked up 4 again today after about 2 months of not reading anything at all. I so wish i had a longer attention span for reading but i just find it really laborious. Though once i get into a good book i am a very fast reader so can usually read a decent story in a couple of days. I do find more and more though that books take some getting into for me these days. It's quite sad really because when i was younger i would read 4 or 5 books a week. Now i'm just busy and lazy in alternate measures

Finished watching my Thorne DVDs. I did enjoy the series, but I can't honestly say it has great writing. Natasha McElhone's character in the Sleepyhead seemed like a token love interest, and we never heard about her again in the Scaredy Cat. Kelsey, I actually like Scaredy Cat more I think. There were some problems with it. Sandra Oh's character is so incompetent and hysterical you wonder how she ever became a police woman. The black cop was like a different character in Scaredy Cat. I don't know what happened to his pregnant wife from the first series? ! ???I loved Toms interactions with the young boy, and the secondary characters grew on me. I like the actress who plays Tom's boss. I think a romance between them would be interesting! ;D Keith is kinda lovable despite being an ass! ;D I really liked DM's acting in Scaredy Cat. Tom can be a rude, insensitive bastard. DM doesn't shrink from making him unlikeable at times.
