I love that particular episode of Marple 'cos you get the best of so many worlds - RA, Burn Gorman, Reece Shearsmith and Bryan Dick! It's like fangirl heaven!! ;D Haha I know! ;D My original reason for watching it was for Reece, and also Julian Rhind Tutt - the discovery of RA was an awesome bonus (and the thought of him acting in something with a member of the League of Gentlemen is just... I have no words )

I'm a big fan of Bryan Dick (wee Blythe in Blackpool with David Tennant if you've seen that?) and RA so watching it was a must. And then REECE FECKIN' SHEARSMITH turns up!! I actually lost the ability to speak for a short while.

Ooh yeah I think he was in a series called 'Sold' as well - good show, shame it didn't go any further than one series though! And yeah I remember him from Blackpool LOL! I love the Marple/Poirot series', they're just huge cameo fests ;D

Indeed he was in Sold! It's amazing how many people missed that, i really enjoyed it and was a bit sad when it only made one series. He was also in All The Small Things with Neil Pearson ( <3 ) - not the greatest of dramas but he had *really* long hair. In fact they both did ;D And he played Ernie Wise in a one-off drama called Eric and Ernie which was, quite simply, amazing!
Oof, major OT!! Apologies.
Cameo fests indeed. It's two hours of "ooh, that's him from that..." and "oh, what's he from again?". Great TV.

I loved 'Sold' - probably because Kris Marshall was in it But I thought it was great. Ooh he was in that Morcombe and Wise special? I still haven't seen that yet... LOL OT indeed... um... RA is awesome ;D And yeah, that's what it's like. It's great though, especially seeing different actors you might like in the same thing

I've seen nearly all of Robin Hood season one. Still no full blown RA obssession...yet! Guy is too much the Sheriff's lapdog for my liking. ;D He's good in the scenes with Marian though. I confess that Robin and Will Scarlett have caught my fancy so far. ;D Jonas Armstrong is an interesting choice for Robin. I would have expected the casting people to get some strapping hunk for the role, not some skinny, scruffy dude! I like the cheeky glint in his eyes, and the way he can instantly change mood. Harry Lloyd as Will Scarlett always looks as though he's thinking of something. He has an amazingly photgenic face and a gorgeous long neck. ;D I've just got spooks 9 from the library. Maybe this will trigger Armitage-mania! ;D

Ooh i fell in love with Gisborne within minutes of the first episode He does get sexier as he gets braver though...throughout the second series when he's alot stronger willed and decides he doesn't really like the Sheriff much anymore ;D As for Jonas Armstrong...gorgeous isn't he? Completely *not* typical Robin Hood, but within the first 2 or 3 episodes i found myself really believing in him as Robin. Surely back then (if Robin really existed, or someone like him) he probably wouldn't have been muscle bound and rippling torso, he probably would have looked something like Jonas. And with all that stubble and those stolen, heated, moments with Marion he is *gah* Spooks 9...i'm only on Spooks 7 at the moment, enjoy! ;D

Spooks 9...i'm only on Spooks 7 at the moment, enjoy! That was a typo. I meant Spooks 7! ;D I haven't seen all the previous seasons. I watched the first couple of seasons ages ago, then Mathew McFayden left and the new guy didn't do much for me. Anyway, about RA in Season 7...*drumroll* if I become a fully fledged obssessive, this will be the role the role responsible for it! I loved RA's Lucas North in a way that I haven't loved any of his other characters. I'm talking specifically about Season 7. I've been to several forum where people talked about his character assassination in Season 8 and 9. His acting impressed me so much here. It was subtle and powerful and intense, and his yearning for his ex-wife was painful to watch. I've rewatched the Lucas/Elizaveta scene numerous times for the looks and touches he gives her. By the way, it occurred to me recently that RA seems to specialize in romantic yearning, based on the few shows that I've seen him in. I came across a blog which discussed this very thing! Check it out RA fans. spooksfanblog.com/2010/10/11/richard-armitage-and-the-character-of-desire/I also found a very funny blog while I was googling Lucas North. I've been doing that that a lot recently, not that I'm obssessed or anything! ;D It's about Lucas North and his manpain in Season 7, and it's frigging hilarious. Ripley, I think you'll love it! Make sure you read the comments too! lesbiassparrow.livejournal.com/257938.html

You're right Marianne, i do love that second, hilarious, blog!
Here are some of my favourite highlights:
"There are other people in the show, but I really don't care about them."
"I think that whole sleeping on the floor thing has nothing to do with time in Russian jails and everything to do with wanting to feel maximum pain ALL THE TIME."
"Apparently the EMO TATTOOS only really make their appearances near the beginning of season 7, just to tease us and make us think far too much about what he's got under his shirt for the rest of the season."
"I can never really imagine Richard Armitage in anything light, because he does the agony so well. I only hope that he spends his career trying to top each manpain filled part, until one day he out manpains Bourne."
;D

Hey Ripley, what do you think about RA as James Bond? Funnily enough, I've almost finished watching Season 9, and there's an episode where a female character asks Lucas if he's James Bond!!!! ;D She calls him "James" several times during the episode! ;D RA displays some very Bond like qualities here!

Hmm I don't know about RA as Bond - I think I'd rather see him play a parody Bond... something more like this... www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJqgrfKMdms ;D (coz he always plays the angsty dark people - he needs to lighten the eff up before he develops a complex )

I don't think the man himself would like to be Bond with all the PR and interested of the public - he is much too shy for it - allways hiding in the background.
He definately should play something funny - wanna see more of his comical talent: The Vicar of Dibley and the much to short appearance in the 24 Hour Plays last year are not enough!!!

coz he always plays the angsty dark people - he needs to lighten the eff up before he develops a complex ) I'm guessing that you don't share the blogger's desire to see RA wallow magnificently in manpain for the rest of his career!!! ;D Is Bond supposed to be "bulked up"? I never got that impression. The pre-Craig Bonds weren't particularly muscular. I like slim men anyway. They have an elegance that I think is important for Bond. Ladies, I'm shocked that you haven't leapt at the Bond suggestion! RA ticked a lot of the Bond qualities boxes for me in Season 9- sexy way of handling his gun ( ), drives a fast car with style, good in action scenes, looks elegant in his dark boiler jumpsuit thingy. ;D Plus he looked really good in a suit in season 7 when he pretends to be Roz's boyfriend. That ruby red tie...*faints* Plus he's got the acting chops, and he's still a relative unknown. I'd love to see my Christian Bale play Bond, but he didn't even make the list! Many of those Bond suggestions have me scratching my head. Robert Pattinson? ? By what stretch of the imagination? By the way whiterose, welcome to the forum!

I don't think Bond has to be muscly to be fair, i just think a less educated Bond audience (i.e. those that think Daniel Craig *is* Bond...pfftt) sort of expects it now. Pierce was slightly bulkier in his later films, and Daniel is just ridiculously so.
Roger Moore is my favourite Bond (although closely followed by Pierce, but that's purely because i think he's gorgeous!) so i'm not adverse to a slimmer, more suave, double entendre using leading man.
