Young Mr Morrissey's levels of winsomeness are off the chart here, I think you'll agree In the absence of DVDs of One Summer, you might like to visit yliantilla's channel on YouTube where you can see a few scenes of Billy in all his gawky, gangly adolescent glory: www.youtube.com/user/yliantillaI also have yliantilla to thank for alerting me to Mr M's turn as Theseus in The Storyteller (although I'm not sure it'll be something he keeps on his cv, in spite of the stellar cast ) - there are a few clips from that there as well

Young Mr Morrissey's levels of winsomeness are off the chart here, I think you'll agree *coughs, splutters* Uhm...yeah, no argument here! *thud* (Though now I'm attempting to ignore a certain odd sense of guilt at being a wannabe Billy-molester--since he was still older than me then too, after all, even though if we had gone to a bar together then, they probably would have said I couldn't bring my little brother in there with me.) OMG, I kid you not, I just tweeted kitty about ten minutes ago asking if she'd seen any of the One Summer stuph on YouTube--my poor lil' antiquated, cranky iMac does not play most clips there terribly well, but I was of course chock fulla awwww at noticing how his voice hadn't quite changed yet. As I think I noted in one of my early posts, that was the third project of Mr. Morrissey's I watched after Sense and Sensibility vaulted me into permanent hormonal overload back in January, and I emerged more or less shattered from the experience. (Yes, in a good way.) Mind you, I was also chuffed to see that series featured Orpheus as played by Art Malik--who I had a gigantic thang for back inna day--and who my beloved resembles to perhaps an unhealthy extent (despite being Serbian rather than Anglo-Indian), though I think this again proves my capacity for consistency if naught else. But with regard to Theseus, I'm reminded of what I said--at the LJ DM comm, not here, I think--about how at that age Mr. Morrissey could have pulled off a sort of gangly-supermodel drag quite successfully, n'est-ce pas?

Young Mr Morrissey's levels of winsomeness are off the chart here, I think you'll agree Awwww, that pic Thinking back to when I was in my teens, I'm not sure I'd have been that keen on him (way too goofy looking, given I had a crush on David Duchovny at 16). Then again, I had buck teeth at that age, so it's probably a bit rich of me to deride anyone's goofiness I keep hoping this will come out on DVD here eventually *checks watch* Lilly and I were discussing The Storyteller not long after there was a screening of old Henson stuff at our local cinema which I was curious about checking out, but never got around to it...I was spewing! So thanks again for that Youtube link kitty

Er, Kitty, are you still sure goofy was the word you were looking for? Okay, maybe not 'goofy', but I guess I was alluding to the fact that my inclinations have almost always been towards, erm, older men, so even DM's teenish wiles don't really do anything for me Not that it diminishes my keeness to see One Summer, mind you! kitty

Oh, mine too - I was only teasing really I do think the teen Mr Morrissey is a bit of a raving beauty in that one shot, but generally watching the boy DM is intriguing primarily because he grew up into the man DM. And he is pretty gawky in One Summer, or the little I've seen of it. Awkward age I s'pose

Oh, mine too - I was only teasing really Yeah, I knew by your winkie Was just sayin', is all. Oh, you're right, that B&W shot (I fgure that's the pic you're talking about) is pretty cute And that's why I'd like to track down One Summer too, being curious about checking out the caterpillar that turned into said butterfly (BTW, have you seen Cause Celebre with Helen Mirren? - he's a cherubic lumbering young'n in that as well). *nods* It is an awkward age generally, but after seeing this pic a few days ago, I got to wondering whether Mr. Tennant ever endured a 'gawky' phase...well, at least in my eyes anyway! kitty

Aaw, so pretty! Mr Tennant has a certain boyish quality even now, but he looks impossibly young there!

As I commented to kitty at LJ, I think with that DT photo she's discovered the quintessential embodiment of the term, of, "self-consciously dreamy." Aw, bless 'im.

I haven't, but having just read the discussion about it on the relevant thread and seen the picture, I really want to (amen to your comment about the succulence of that bottom lip, btw. Mr M's mouth was and remains a thing of wonder ). Alas, the film only seems to be available in Region 1 format at the moment though

I actually got it here as part of a Double-Shot DVD featuring Helen Mirren, although we're Region 4. What Region are you? kitty

Region 2. My DVD player used to be happy to take Region 1 as well but the last time I tried a Region 1 disk it just wouldn't work - not sure why.

Region 2. My DVD player used to be happy to take Region 1 as well but the last time I tried a Region 1 disk it just wouldn't work - not sure why. That's because DVD players allow you to change regions 5 times (I think) before locking. So the fifth time it changed regions, it must've locked onto Region 2...damn You'd therefore need to find a multi-region player (they do, in fact, exist...somewhere) to play DVDs from other Regions. kitty
