"Well, it could have been worse." That was my reaction to both this movie and Mr. Morrissey's American accent, as it happens. (Definitely better than in Captain Corelli's Mandolin, in any case, as I got the giggles any number of times from thinking, "Oh, dear, that was a bit of Austria-by-way-of-Liverpool there, wasn't it?" This perhaps mirrors my longtime assertion that an excellent drinking game can be based around how often one can hear the unmistakable tones of London peeking through Naveen Andrews' admittedly unique interpretation of an Iraqi accent on Lost.) And I am pleased to report that I am not in fact so hormonally deranged where Mr. Morrissey is concerned that I was incapable of noticing that Idris Elba is quite the smokin' hottie in his own right: (Hmmm...not a snogfest I'd object to seeing, by any means.) Though the wholly predictable storyline arc of his character definitely left me more than a mite disgusted at the film's conclusion...brotha just ain't gettin' no love there, dammit, and yet another actor whose actual accent is infinitely preferable to his pseudo-Americanese, IMO. Still, never thought I could ever fancy someone covered in blood, so props to the big fella there...not to mention sheer comedy points for the haircut, too.

"Well, it could have been worse." Was contented with a 'meh' reaction given this was widely held to be a 'Turkey' (at least when I checked it out on Rotten Tomatoes) ROFL ;D However, it was topped by Nick Cage's 'Itawian' accent, which, for an actor who's supposed to be from said background, is pretty damn poor form. *Nods rigourously in agreement* Meh, covered in blood...you know, whatever *fondly recalls Nirvana's Come As You Are* Aw, I actually am rather fancying the modern crew-cuttish streamlined look (as featured in Meadowlands too)...as long as it's not done by a grass trimmer, mind you kitty

Couldn't agree more - I felt the same. I guess that's Hollywood for ya I found Born Romantic on YouTube over the weekend and in a greedy-child-at-Christmas kind of way couldn't resist watching it at once, even though I have a DVD of it already in the post Will comment on it in the relevant thread at some point, but I mention it here only because it meant I had a little retrospective snicker at the moment in the barbecue scene where Doug exclaims 'I forgot the Tabasco!' and Katharine goes and fetches for him. I thought 'Yeah, you be careful with that stuff as well, hon.'

Couldn't agree more - I felt the same. I guess that's Hollywood for ya Visual distractions aside, I really liked IA's character too. He's such a sweetie, and to end up like Eugene was 'meant' to end up in OMF was, pardon my French, effing poor form. I was especially appreciative of the fact that he didn't seem jealous of Doug and Katherine, or at least was enough of a pro to not let it affect him in working with Doug...which makes the ending even worse now that I think about it Glad to see you've aquainted yourself with BR But OMG, GREAT PICK-UP!! *applauds* I didn't realise that particular exchange until now...LMAO!!! kitty

Okay, although I've still got a mountain of screencaps from kitty yet to process--if y'all have any particular preferences regarding from which project what I post next, please feel free to send up a shout--but since this is what she's presently capping the holy hell out of (erm, so to speak), a sample of the goodness to follow. As always, Her Aussie Awesomeness' gift for hilarious titles must be shared, starting with how the subject line of these emails was, "Here Be the Wrath of Doug," along with how she titled this, "Buttercup's Serious." And this next: "I Plead Not Guilty." But never let it be said that we here at the DMF2 don't have our priorities strictly in order. "Dammit, I'm deep too, but all they ever do is talk about my ass." And as means of temporarily rectifying that state of affairs, I'd just like to share what I noted to kitty about this next, which is that it's the keen intelligence in his eyes that kinda-sorta absolutely slays me. i believe the word you're all searching for regarding this next is, "RAWR." Alright, folks, steel yourselves--we have a serious Cheeky Minx Alert happening. Shoulder Porn! Rampant incipient !HoYay! Too much masculine gorgeousness in one picture! *flails, dies* And with regard to this last...oh, I think you guys can supply your own caption.

Thank you for posting so much screencappy gorgeousness In the cheeky barbecuin' minx cap I notice there's also some fairly potent arm porn going on I take it that Doug's buffness is down to the lingering effects of Mr Morrissey's punishing gym regimen for BI2. The results are impressive, no doubt about it, though as someone who's at least as partial to a more cuddly, Ripleyesque physique I'm pretty happy either way

*Homer drools* Maybe it's my PMS talking, but I could probably write a whole entire thesis on all the things I would like to do to dear Doug kitty

*Homer drools* Maybe it's my PMS talking, but I could probably write a whole entire thesis on all the things I would like to do to dear Doug And you know damn well I would not only volunteer to proofread that thesis for you, but also I would later be able to quote vast swathes of it back to you from memory. Alrighty then, I finally have some time to post some more Reaping screencaps as per kitty's request (and indeed, all her hard work in capping the hell outta that movie in the first place). Starting off with one Major Shoulder Porn Alert here... Though this next one... ...reminds me of my icon, sorry: Dammit, no-one should look this good with blood all over him. NO-ONE!! *shakes tiny impotent fist in despair yet again* And regarding this last... ...I'm sorry, but a macro was inevitable.

Aw ta, LOL! It's great having a fanclub of one on that front Well, much like I felt about this forum about seven months ago, I know that my solitary status in that capacity is not destined to last forever, ya know... Agreed, that was probably the wrong modifer--I guess "damp" would be more accurate?
