Wasn't David just brilliant in this? (David Tennant didn't do too badly either, lol!) Loved his costume, it was very classic Doctor-ish and suited him perfectly. I was a bit disappointed that Jackson Lake didn't turn out to be a future version of the Doctor after all, but he's still quite a magnificent human. I'm still not ruling David out as being the Doctor though (if he wants the role, job, that is), he'd be amazing in the role. The Cyber-plot - although it was fun - faded into the background for me in comparison to the tale of the two Doctors.

I loved the story. It was very emotive and touching. I was gutted that he isn't the Next Doctor. I really wish that he was. He was so convincing and strong. Loved it!!!!! By the way Ravish Me Ripley - yep it's bad but it's *almost* understandable. I just sank into a chair and spent an hour drooling over them both! Russell T and Stephen Moffatt are geniuses!!!!!

David was amazing in DW. I am seriously pissed that he is not the 11th Doctor (although the new chap is quite handsome). Am i the only one though that kept hoping that David and DT would kiss (yes i kinda have a thing for thoose two) Davids acting in placed almost made me cry espcially when he realises who he is and when he sees his son.

No, you are not. This was pure slashing! They were really good together, I would wish we could see them together soon again. You feel that is really a good chemistry between them. They are both brilliant actors but they are even better, when they work together! Could we please have another DW-Special with DT as the Doctor and DW as his companion! ;D

More DT/DW Doctor Who would be a dream come true for me...i too was absolutely gutted DM is not the new Doctor.
Plenty of DM/DT slash in Blackpool though...that helps soften the blow a bit ;D

That new bloke is just...weird Why couldn't it have been David instead - one brilliant David to take over from the previous brilliant David *sigh* I mean he had the personality of what the Doctor would be like down to a T! I'm not ruling out the possibility of DM being the real Doctor in the future, if he wanted the role, that is. *crosses fingers it'll happen one day*

the one thing im wondering (hoping) is if they are lying about the new guy cause they never usualy say who it is going to be this early (unless he regenerates during a full series) but if he did become the doctor he would be my favourite

I've been avoiding this thread because of what I shall be forced to admit herein. *hangs head in pre-emptive shame* See, I admin another Doctor Who-related forum, and when Mr. Morrissey's name was originally bandied about last year as the potential Eleventh Doctor, my reaction at the time was to cite this as further evidence of Paul McGann's immortal quote about how the Doctor is invariably played by "an unsexy white man." *covers face in despair* Oh, the wrongness. And it's out there on the internet forever now, I can't take it back. (Well, okay, as an admin I could easily delete the post, but being already over-inclined to the retcon as it is, I instead chose to quietly revoke this statement, adding that, "Sometimes when I'm wrong, I'm really wrong!") I've only gotten to see, "The Next Doctor" twice--both times online--but I adored it, of course. Thought I was gonna have a stroke if they didn't snog each other silly at some point, but somehow managed to survive with all synapses intact.

In my continuing efforts to atone for my previous statements, in case anyone hasn't seen this--or would like to watch it again--our friends in foreign lands have come through for us yet again, because it's available on the Chinese version of YouTube: v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNjI1NDU4NzY=.html

Of dubious relevance at best, but am compelled to share nonetheless. Someone at the DW-related forum I admin cited this clip last year, but I recently was forced to reflect that my original choices have changed considerably; nowadays I'd marry Nine, shag Ten, then cliff 'em both in order to go drown myself in Jackson Lake. ;D
