You'd think I would know by now not to take a sip of water when I'm reading one of your posts, right? I would, but inasmuch as I'd like to berate you, here I am replying while eating a huge bowl of chicken noodle soup. Pot, meet kettle. Again One can always live in hope... ;D kitty

According to this, at 23:30 tonight, on BBC Radio 7 we have, "Adam Baron's Shut Eye, episode 1: as ex-cop Billy Rucker looks for runaways around London's seamy King's Cross, a murderer strikes. Stars David Morrissey." Le link directique, c'est ici, though I don't believe it's functional until the programme has actually aired (which seems only fair). Whether it will play for us non-UK punters remains to be seen, but that seems to apply more to the Beeb's tv shows on iPlayer than radio programmes (i.e. if you don't pay licence fees and want to watch this stuph legally, you're gonna hafta pay through the nose for the privilege). Uhm, not that I'm bitter, or anything...

As I already noted to celia, it's rather interesting (note use of completely non-judgmental word) that his response had nothing to do with his wife or kids. Hmmm...though I wish they hadn't cut him off at the end like that, too. Though to be fair, I am totally down with the Liverpool part--at this point I would welcome any respite from the pain of this past season--and to be honest, I might not say no to spending all day in bed with Flora Montgomery either. Really just depends on if she asked nicely...

Yet another BBC programme it's doubtful I'll ever get to see, and more's the pity, since it looks fascinating. Especially as a fan of retro design, I love the look of some of those book covers.

Wonderfully gorgeous hand porn ! *does happydance that lucinda posted again* Hey, and plenty more where that comes from, too--I remember thinking that there was some particularly notable Hand Porn in the Red Riding caps that kitty kindly sent me, so I'll work on getting those posted next in my ongoing attempt to satiate your needs in that department. In the meantime-- not Hand Porn, but Glasses Porn. Just a really nice photo from the Sheffield appearance the other night. Okay, apparently it's a radio programme but as I get the, "Not available in your area" message there, howzabout someone in the UK (or those of you with functional proxies) take a listen and then tell me about it, hmmm? *big sad pleading Bambi eyes*

He went into how it enhances his enjoyment of reading (talked about the feel and smell of books, something I've missed a lot of this past year, and would agree with him heartily ). Very much a proponent of keeping the book alive in this age of digital media May need to listen to it again later this week to tease it out a bit more (or perhaps try and copy the video/audio, if you like ), but that's what I got from one spin. kitty

Very much a proponent of keeping the book alive in this age of digital media Amen to that. Someone recently enthused to me about the iPad and how you can actually flip pages in it, to which I could only snort, "Why not just read an actual book instead?!" Aw, thanks for that kitty. I'm good with just the synopsis, actually. After reading the headline in this Yorkshire Post article, my first thought was, "Hmmm, time to shut down the DMF2, then?" But upon further reflection, we really don't talk about his personal life here very much, do we? I think we mainly dispense more general information and pictures, with a secondary line in substantive discussion of his work and hormonal blatheration (I plead guilty to only three of those). In any case, no argument with the "devilishly handsome" bit, though I did a serious *eyeroll* at the "one of the few wrong moves in his otherwise pristine career" line about Basic Instinct 2, cos gosh darn it all, when are these people going to wake up and realise that nekkidness + hot nasty hatesex = WIN in every known permutation of the term? (Coherent plot? We don't need no stinkin' coherent plot!) I was also astonished but pleased to find that for once the US apparently will get to see one of Mr. Morrissey's projects before the UK; while that article lists Murder on the Orient Express as having a Christmas broadcast, the PBS website says it's being shown here on 11 July. w00t! (My fellow North Americans, mark your calendars now.) And lastly, I don't know if you folks overseas see the same ads that I do, but this juxtaposition unduly amused me: I immediately finished the sentence: "...Using Only His Mind!" (Yes, that was in fact the first body part that came to mind.)

While I reject the whole notion of a perfect day as inherently flawed--see our previous discussion re: the perfect man as being in truth unbelievably boring--I nevertheless was reminded of the concept from that clip because yesterday morning I got to watch two of my favourite Reds win the World Cup for the first time (okay, two others having to lose was not so great, but seeing Reina hugging Kuyt and Babel was one of my favourite World Cup moments [the past month itself having kind of having changed my life--I'm really going to miss waking up to the sound of vuvuzelas!]), then I went to the gym and got such an endorphin high that I came home and made a cake for my dad--German chocolate, so I have zero desire to partake of any myself--and then got to watch my favourite lofty Liverpudlian in Poirot last night. Not a perfect day by any means, but not too damned shabby, ya know?

I'm slightly amused by the fact that both articles I've seen about this feature a photo of Mr. Morrissey smiling, and if ever there was an issue that called for an Utmost Cookie Deprivation shot, this would be it, wouldn't it?And I'm passing along this link simply because I already sent it to celia with the comment, "STUBBLE ALERT!" *thunk* (Now that I've just looked at the photo again, I'd say that totally qualifies as Jaw Porn as well. Lawd have mercy...) There's also a video interview from that Sky news conference, but I'm not linking to it on the grounds that it's completely out of focus and the sound is practically nonexistent as well, thus begging the question why anyone would go to the trouble of uploading it to YouTube in the first place.

Lawd have mercy...) LOL! I looked at the pic for a sec going, "Stubble? What stubble?"--it's quite, erm, light stubble! The article itself was quite interesting, particularly the little edit at the bottom pertaining to DM's supposed dealings with the BBC which were refuted: The original said that David Morrissey had approached the BBC, as well as Sky, with his project to dramatise the Thorne novels but went with Sky "for fear that the BBC bureaucracy would stifle his vision". A representative for Mr Morissey has told us that he never approached the BBC and has not expressed concern that the BBC would stifle his vision.Indeed, I didn't think he'd ever be the type to openly say anything derisive about the BBC...talk about burning your bridges kitty

LOL! I looked at the pic for a sec going, "Stubble? What stubble?"--it's quite, erm, light stubble! You know me, hon--I'm all about the minor, thoroughly-irrelevant details, yo! (Plus this is the kind of thing that I tend to notice now that I have a new monitor with much higher contrast and resolution ratios. Because of course I never would have noticed such a thing before. Nope, not me, not in a million years.) Well-spotted, and as always, a canny observation--either the reporter was trying to drum up some controversy in an otherwise mundane story, or this was actually the case and said representative was clever enough to put the kibosh on it being bandied about post-haste. Incidentally, I happened across this nicely-laudatory overview of upcoming projects. You know, the more I hear about U Be Dead, the more I dread watching it; I think that all the blood and guts of Centurion might be ultimately easier to handle, though of course it does sound like yet another heapin' helpin' o' manpain--at which of course we all know Mr. M. excels--along with a fair amount of moral ambiguity, which he also does rather well. *coughs meaningfully, then goes back to watching newly-acquired Blackpool DVD*

It doesn't seem entirely inappropriate to mention that while checking out this thread, I'm reading a thread on a footy forum entitled "Swallow this!" Um, yeah...moving back onto topic... You know me, hon--I'm all about the minor, thoroughly-irrelevant details, yo! (Plus this is the kind of thing that I tend to notice now that I have a new monitor with much higher contrast and resolution ratios. Because of course I never would have noticed such a thing before. Nope, not me, not in a million years.) LOL, I'm sure the new computer is aiding your endeavours there no end Cheers for that linky synopsis! Having read up on the RL case U Be Dead is based on, the whole scenario is rather mind blowing, and it's no wonder really that someone chose to make a fictional drama out of it. I'm actually really looking forward to watching him play this character (Jan, I think his name is), because he does present as rather unlikeable, and it'll be interesting to see whether DM plays him straight up or works his 'redeeming the unredeemable' magic-mojo thang to make the guy vaguely watchable. Re the other projects, I also like the fact that even the copper roles he's selecting have something a little different about them from the 'normal' copper roles you often see ;D kitty
